Ramgopal is an expert in the safety and verification & validation of safety-critical systems, with extensive RAMS/V&V experience spanning railway signalling systems, medical devices such as ventilators, and nuclear power plant safety systems.

He has been responsible for the RAMS and safety certification of signalling systems for metro and people-mover projects worldwide, securing approvals under CENELEC EN 50126 / 50128 / 50129, CSM-RA, and FRA regulations including 49 CFR Part 236 Subpart H, while leading international teams of RAMS engineers across multiple continents and suppliers.

  • Safety Plans, RAM Plans, V&V Plans and Test Plans, authored and managed
  • PHA, SHA, SSHA, O&SHA, FMEA and Fault Tree analyses
  • Test & V&V reports, Design and Final Safety Cases
  • Managing the interface with Independent Safety Assessors & Notified Bodies
  • Project RAMS management with international, multi-supplier teams

Signalling technology expertise

  • Driverless ATC (GoA4) built on Microlok interlocking technology
  • CBTC signalling systems with moving-block operation
  • PTC technology under the US FRA regulatory framework
